Project News | Groundbreaking Ceremony of Jieyang (High-tech Zone) Wanyang Science and Technology Innovation City Successfully Held

On the morning of November 3, a groundbreaking ceremony for key projects in Jieyang High-tech Zone, including the Wanyang Science and Technology Innovation City project, was grandly held at the construction site of the project, marking a new chapter for Wanyang Group's comprehensive development in eastern Guangdong and deep cultivation in the Chaoshan Jieyang region.

Wang Sheng, Secretary of the Jieyang Municipal Party Committee; Zhi Guangnan, Mayor of Jieyang; Yang Jun, member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Minister of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology; Wang Shaole, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee, Minister of the Organization Department, and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Jieyang High-tech Zone (Airport Economic Zone); Liu Peng, Vice Mayor; Su Xiaofeng, Chairman of Wanyang Group; Wu Jianming, President of Wanyang Group; Zeng Huanlu, General Manager of Wanyang Innovation City in Eastern Guangdong; and representatives of key projects in the High-tech Zone attended the event.

Secretary Wang Shaole stated in his speech that the Wanyang Science and Technology City in the High-tech Zone achieved "instant construction after land acquisition," creating a "high-speed" record for investment attraction in the city. After completion, the project will become an innovative demonstration benchmark for promoting the clustered, high-end, intelligent, and green development of Jieyang's industrial sector. It will play a significant role in promoting industrial cluster development, assisting enterprises in upgrading and transforming, and building a national high-tech zone to a high standard. Focusing on innovation means focusing on development, and planning for innovation means planning for the future. In recent years, the Jieyang High-tech Zone has implemented the innovation-driven development strategy in depth, adhering to the direction of "developing high technology and achieving industrialization," striving to build a "2+1" characteristic leading industrial system, accelerating the advancement of major projects, continuing to make strong efforts in precise investment attraction, and accelerating the gathering of innovation factors. We are climbing higher and moving towards innovation, unswervingly building a demonstration zone for innovation-driven development and a pioneering zone for high-quality development, laying a solid foundation for the clustered development of enterprises.

Vice Mayor Liu Peng highlighted the Wanyang Science and Technology Innovation City project in Jieyang High-tech Zone. As a demonstration project for industrial agglomeration in Jieyang and a base for the clustered development of small and medium-sized enterprises in the High-tech Zone, the project covers a total planned area of 800 mu (approximately 53 hectares) with a total construction area of approximately 1.3 million square meters and a planned investment of approximately 3.5 billion RMB. The first phase covers approximately 151 mu (approximately 10 hectares) with a construction area of approximately 270,000 square meters and a planned investment of approximately 500 million RMB. Upon completion, it will provide approximately 10,000 jobs for the local area. The project will focus on attracting four major industries—intelligent manufacturing, new materials, electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing, and the next-generation information technology industry—and their upstream and downstream supporting enterprises. It is planned to be developed into an industrial agglomeration platform integrating production, manufacturing, R&D, technology display, and production and life supporting facilities.

Wu Jianming, President of Wanyang Group, stated in his speech that industrial parks are the main battlefields and growth poles of the local economy and the physical space carriers for the high-quality development of manufacturing. Wanyang will actively respond to the government's call, deeply participate in the major undertaking of standardized construction of Jieyang's industrial parks, promote the process of clustered entry of small and medium-sized enterprises into the parks, promote the upgrading and iteration of traditional advantageous industries, and promote the upgrading and advancement of the High-tech Zone's development.

After the event, Secretary Wang Sheng and other leaders conducted in-depth exchanges and interactions with representatives of key projects commencing construction in the High-tech Zone. Wanyang Group Chairman Su Xiaofeng and President Wu Jianming provided detailed introductions of the Wanyang model and specific project plans on-site.
